The thematic review examines how race, racism, and racial bias impact the identification, understanding, and response to safeguarding needs among Black, Asian, and Mixed Heritage children and families in England. It highlights gaps in acknowledging racism’s role in service responses, insufficient exploration of cultural influences on practices, neglect of unique risks faced by these children, and calls for local safeguarding partnerships to revise strategies to address racial issues effectively.
