LVS Oxford Announces Senior Leadership Promotions to Support SEN Expansion and Innovation in Neurodiverse Education

Posted: 25th April 2025

LVS Oxford, a specialist school dedicated to educating children on the autism spectrum, is proud to announce two significant leadership changes that will take effect from 24th April 2025. These changes reflect the school’s ongoing commitment to delivering outstanding education and support through the continued development of its Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision.

Ian Peters, who has served as our Principal, is promoted into a newly established role as SEN Development Manager. This strategic appointment will focus on advancing and embedding best practices in neurodiverse science and education across the school’s provision. Mr Peters’ extensive experience and deep insight into the needs of autistic learners will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the school’s expanding SEN programme.

Stepping into the role of Principal is Melanie Waller, formerly the Vice Principal. Ms Waller brings to the role a strong foundation in inclusive education, a deep understanding of the school’s culture, and a longstanding dedication to the children, families, and staff who form the heart of the school community.

“These leadership changes come at an exciting time of growth,” said Director of Education, Mr Ian Mullins “Ian’s transition into a strategic development role, alongside Mel’s appointment as Principal, ensures we are well-positioned to continue leading in the field of specialist education.”

This transition is a central part of a broader SEN expansion initiative aimed at strengthening and scaling the school’s provision while remaining firmly rooted in its guiding mission: Learning Without Limits.

LVS Oxford remains committed to delivering an exceptional educational experience that empowers every student to thrive, grow, and succeed.
